Niagara Falls may have made headlines last week after extremely low temperatures caused it to freeze, but beginning this Friday, March 6, the place will be heating with great poker action as the 2015 Western New York Poker Challenge kicks off at Seneca Poker Niagara Falls.

The series of tournaments, which will run through March 15 and offer buy-ins ranging from $50-$1,000, will kick off at 11 a.m. on Friday with Event #1: $200 No-Limit Hold'em, a tournament that will start players with 15,000 in starting chips and offer 30-minute levels.

Likewise, satellites held on the hotel balcony are open to those 18-plus.

Speaking of the $1,000 buy-in, $200,000 guaranteed Main Event, which attracted 183 entries last year and saw Nick Walker walk away with the $37,061 top prize, that tournament will take place from March 13-15 and of course the PokerNews Live Reporting team will be on the floor providing live updates, chip counts, photos and more from each tournament.

Finally, another tournament on the schedule that is not to be missed is Event #5: $50 NLHE ($25,000 Guaranteed). That tournament will offer six starting flights and allow for late registration and unlimited reentries for the first 12 levels. Players are allowed to play in more than one flight. Any player that survives more than one flight will only be able to take their largest finishing stack forward into Day 2.
